3 Must Try Liquors From Throughout The World

Posted by on 3:56 am in Uncategorized | Comments Off on 3 Must Try Liquors From Throughout The World

There are plenty of liquors that you have undoubtedly tried: whiskey, tequila, and vodka, for example. However, those are merely the tip of the iceberg when it comes to delicious liquors distilled throughout the world. Throughout the course of this brief guide, you’ll learn a bit about some exotic liquors that you absolutely must try sometime. Cachaça This Brazilian liquor has a sweet aftertaste to it due to the fact that it is mainly distilled from sugarcane. It is perhaps the most tasted alcohol base in all of Brazil. However, people rarely drink it straight up. It often serves as a base for Brazilian cocktails, like the caipirinha, which is a sweet blend of cachaça, sugar, and lime. As both liquors are refined from sugar, it is often referred to as a “Brazilian rum.” Arak Arak, a liquor that is quite popular in the Mediterranean, is a liquor that is distilled from grape alcohol and combined with water and aniseed. In many Mediterranean countries, the drink is watered down even more. Like how whiskey is combined with water in many southern states, arak is imbibed in a half and half mixture of water and whiskey. Many countries have their own unique take on arak. For example, in Israel, there is a strong scent and flavor of anise that is combined with the drink. Ouzo, a popular Grecian liquor, is essentially a different take on arak. Amaro This Italian liquor’s name directly translates to “bitter.” There’s no two ways about it, it is a very accurate name. This syrupy liquor is often used as a digestive after dinner. According to many accounts, amaro has a distinct “medicinal” flavor to it, and in the past, amaro was in fact used as a medicine. Many types of amaro include rhubarb, walnuts, fennel, and black truffle, in addition to various herbs. It is often served in a distinct, small liquor glass, and often taken neatly. In recent times, it has become more commonplace to mix the drink with soda water or serve it over ice. If any of these liquors serve to whet your appetite, it is highly recommended you make your way to a local liquor store that sells international liquor. These beverages are sure to please your taste buds and perhaps serve to give you a taste for something new, exciting, and perhaps thoroughly different from what you are used to...

Get a Pre-made Platter Chances are good that you aren’t going to know exactly what all of the foods on the menu are. If you are truly looking to get the full Ethiopian experience, you are going to want to branch out from foods that you identify. The easiest way to do this is to simply order a pre-made platter. This platter will consist of many different types of Ethiopian foods that you know will go well together in a meal. This will allow you to ensure that you are experiencing a variety of spices and foods without having to worry that you are choosing foods that are going to taste terrible together.  2. Don’t Look for Silverware If you are ordering the platter at a restaurant, you are going to not find any silverware. This is because the traditional way to eat Ethiopian food is with your hands and pieces of flat bread that you use to hold onto food. The waiter or waitress with either bring your moist towelettes or a towel and water to wash your hands before you start eating. Until you are finished eating, refrain from touching your hair or anything besides the food. If you need to wipe your hands, wipe them on the next piece of bread that you are planning to use. If you order Ethiopian food to your home, resist the urge to grab a fork or a spoon. You will not be getting the authentic experience if you resort to this. Instead, use the bread that is provided and make sure that you wash your hands yourself before you start eating. 3. Get Coffee Don’t order dessert, since most restaurants will likely only have typical American desserts available or fresh fruit. Instead, go straight to the coffee. Order Ethiopian bean espresso if you want the most authentic experience possible. Ethiopians take their coffee with salt, although sugar will certainly be available. For more information and suggestions, talk to the Ethiopian restaurant itself. The manager will have menu options for those who are not sure what to try for the first...

Posted by on 2:05 am in Uncategorized | Comments Off on How To Clean Your Water Cooler

When you have a water delivery service bring water into your home, you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining your water cooler. Fortunately, this is easy to do and you do not need special equipment. All you need to do is follow these steps. Preparing Your Sanitizing Solution You will want to clean your water cooler every six months or after every water change, whichever comes first. Begin by filling a bucket with a gallon of water. Then, add one tablespoon of bleach to the bucket. Preparing the Water Cooler Make sure the water cooler is always unplugged before cleaning it. If your water cooler also provides hot water, you will need to stop the opening of the hot water tank with a cork or plug. The hot water tank must not allow for the sanitizer to get inside because the heat will already kill all bacteria. A sanitizer is not necessary. Remove the bottle from the cooler. Then, drain all of the cold water using the faucet into a bucket. Throw the water away. Removing the Water guard Look for the water guard. This is a part of the water cooler that punctures the bottle cap so the water can be released. Not all water coolers have this. Those that do need to have the water guard removed before the water cooler can be cleaned. They can usually be removed with a twisting motion. Wiping Down the Cooler and Rinsing Wipe down the inner surface of the water cooler with a sponge and the bleach solution. Let the bleach sit on the inside of the water cooler for at least five minutes. Then, drain the bleach solution. The walls on the interior of the water cooler will likely have build-up. Scrub away the build-up. Then, remove any removable parts and place them in containers that are filled with the bleach solution or in a container with dish detergent and water. Fill the interior reservoir with water to rinse it out.  Use the sponge and bleach solution to wipe down the water bottle to clean it as well, focusing on both the inside and outside. Rinse and empty out the cooler and water bottle until the water does not have a bleach taste. Replace the water guard. Then, you are ready to place the water bottle back on top of the water cooler. Take out the drip tray and screen. Place these in bleach solution to sanitize them. Then, rinse them with clean water and place them back inside the water cooler. When plugging the water cooler back in, allow 30 minutes for the water to return to the appropriate temperature....

Two Pieces Of Restaurant Equipment Every Bakery Must Have

Posted by on 10:23 am in Uncategorized | Comments Off on Two Pieces Of Restaurant Equipment Every Bakery Must Have

You may have big dreams about owning and operating your own bakery. Perhaps, you may even be thinking about starting your business right from your own home. While in business it is always a good idea to start small and grow with your profit and customer base to avoid debt, when it comes to food preparation there are always those specific items that you will not be able to do without. This is especially true in a bakery. here are three pieces of bakery equipment you must have from the restaurant equipment supply store and must make room for one way or another: Steam Proofer Before those freshly baked goods roll out of the oven and fryer piping hot, they will likely be in the form of dough. You should know from experience that working with dough is not a process that you can really rush. It must be given the time to settle, rest, and rise appropriately, or the end result is nowhere near as good as it should be. Unfortunately, waiting for hours, in some cases a full day, for dough to rise is not all that feasible in a commercial setting. Therefore, having a steam proofer in your bakery will be the only way that you can get anywhere when it comes to production. The steam proofer equipment will give you a controlled humidity in a cabinet so you can encourage dough to rise more quickly. A proofer can be large enough that entire baking racks can be pushed inside, designed like a large metal closet with adjustable climate settings. However, a proofer can be small enough to hold just a few trays and sit on a table or countertop.  Commercial-Duty Stand Mixer Baking involves a lot of mixing – mixing that a traditional stand mixer will not be able to handle. If you are mixing all day every day, which is highly likely when you own a bakery, you cannot expect commercial-worthy production from an appliance that is designed to be used at home. Investing in a commercial-duty stand mixer is one of the best ways to make sure you do not end up with a burned out unit every few months, which can get rather costly. The commercial-duty mixer is large enough that it stands on the floor and can handle large batches of ingredients without compromise. While owning your own bakery can be a lucrative business, a bakery is only as productive as the tools and equipment that is in use in the kitchen. Make sure you carefully consider the items that could help you boost production at the restaurant equipment supply store. To learn more, contact a company like Avante Naples with any questions or concerns you...
